Despite the fact that the textile enterprises in China are facing the most crucial market transformation since last decade, knitting industry in China is yet under a speedy development. According to the figure from China Custom, the total export for knitwear and garment from January to March 2008 reaches USD12.175 billion, with an increase of 21.97%. It represents 31.62% of total textile and garment export of USD 38.511 billion, that demonstrating crisis and opportunity are twins - where there is crisis, there is opportunity.

As the first UFI approved knitting and braiding exhibition in China, The 9th China (Yiwu) International Exhibition on Hosiery, Knitting, Dyeing & Finishing Machinery will be staged again this year from November 18-20, 2008 at Yiwu China Commodity City Meihu Exhibition Centre, Zhejiang Province, PR China. In parallel, the 2nd China (Yiwu) International Exhibition on Narrow Fabric, Braiding & Garment Machinery and the 2nd China (Yiwu) International Exhibition on Knitting Yarns will be held concurrently.

The output of sizeable enterprises in Yiwu city remains a significant 2-digit growth in the first quarter of 2008. Being the core industries in Yiwu, the contribution of hosiery, seamless knitwear, braiding and zipper making are undeniable. Yiwu and its surrounding regions are recognized with no doubts as "City of Hosiery in China", "City of Seamless Knitting in China", "City of Braiding in China" and "The Production Base of Zipping Making in China".

Huge market demands and solid foundation of the industry are the keys factors to the success for an exhibition. With the geographic advantage, Yiwu city is best known as an international commodity city, since its debut in 2000, Yiwu H&G grows gradually and has won "2007 Top Ten Zhejiang Province Exhibition Award", after "Top Seven Yiwu City Exhibition". It is the leading exhibition of its kinds, in terms of the exhibiting area and internationalism. Overseas exhibitors and visitors are accounting for 60% and 10% respectively. This year, the organizers expect the exhibiting area break the record by reaching 10,000sqm. Organizers also enrich the show's quality in line with industrial enhancement. Up to now, 60% of past exhibitors have confirmed their participation and some of them participate in Yiwu H&G 2008 exclusively. For example, Cesare Colosio SPA will increase the exhibiting area by 41%; Xuzhou (China) Henghui International Machine Co. Ltd. will double in compare with last year.

The distinguished and favourable business development opportunity of Yiwu H&G, which attracts not only repeated exhibitors, but also draws new faces to the show. As the first time, the new exhibitors, such as Changzhou Runyuan Warp Knitting Machinery Co. Ltd., Kunshan Yingelan Commercial Laundry Equipments Co.
